Monday Muffins
March 30, 2009 · Leave a Comment
is in the making! Both the girls are off from school today. Bill has home office on Monday, too so I was the only one heading out. this morning. Later than usual, mind you, since Monday is the day I start later at school. I came home to a vacuumed home dinner on the table. And as that wasn’t great enough- Kristi has decided to try out a recipe for dark chocolate muffins.
The coffee is ready. And I am. too!!

Fastelavn
February 22, 2009 · Leave a Comment
“Fastelavn” is a part of the church year, it is the onset of fast that lasts till Easter. Nowadays it doesn’t mean anything else to protestants like us than having some sweet buns with our coffee this Sunday and in many homes we’ll find twigs with many coloured feathers. This year I brought out the feathers but ended up not goingout to find twigs. When the girls were younger we always decorated. But the buns are out of the oven! A lot of people serve them with whipped cream. We don’t do that here (I think it is such an odd combination) but I put icing sugar on before serving. What a baking weekend this has been for me. That’s something I only do if I feel like it. And I did.

Baking
February 21, 2009 · 2 Comments
is happening in my kitchen. I had some over-ripe bananas and made muffins that we’ve had with our coffee this afternoon.
The girls are at the movies (Twilight) and Bill and Emma went out in the snowy weather for a walk just now. I have a bread dough going as well
and later tonight I will make a sweet bun dough to put in the fridge for baking tomorrow since it is “Fastelavn” tomorrow. Mom will come for dinner then and we’ll have the buns with icing sugar with our coffees in the evening. Tomorrow is the last day of the Winter Holidays. It’s been good. I have relaxed in every way, both at the cottage and here at home.
Today I painted and collaged a lot of journal pages while watching the World Cup skiing races. Now I have several pages I can write on when I feel like it.
And I also started an altered book. The first one I made was for my sister a few years back. This will be my second one. But I really need more gesso, I’m all out.

No internet – no good!!
September 15, 2008 · 1 Comment
I was all set to write a ne post in this blog yesterday afternoon, coffee and my mom’s apple cake on the table after supper… and then : no internet! I realized as the night progressed how I missed it. I had to admit to a certain level of addiction to my blogging round and my forum connection..
But what do you do instead? No problem finding other things to get into for me. I am on the last few centimetres of the second sleeve of Cobblestone and I started a new book that seems very good. This author is well established in Norway now, but it’s the first time I read something of hers.
The whole town were affected by this computer trouble today. Bank terminals in the stores, some cell phones didn’t work, and then the internet on several workplaces..
I work right outside of town and luckily everything worked there. Everything works now though and apparently they had it fixed around four pm.
